NICOLE CALLANDER WARD 4
BIO

 Meet Nicole Callander

Candidate for Brantford City Council – Ward 4
Nicole Callander is your dedicated neighbour, community advocate, and candidate for Ward 4 City Councillor in Brantford.
For over a decade, Nicole has called Ward 4 home. Alongside her husband, she is proudly raising her four children right here in our community. Driven by a deep love for her neighbourhood and a belief that local government should work transparently for the people, Nicole is stepping up to ensure Ward 4 gets the strong, proactive representation it deserves.

A Proven Track Record of Leadership & Service
Nicole doesn’t just talk about community—she builds it. Her extensive volunteer work and leadership have consistently focused on lifting up others and making Brantford a more inclusive, compassionate place to live:
  • Community Builder: Nicole is the proud founder of Friends 4 Kindness and actively collaborates with local groups like New Paths Brant and the Riverside Hub.
  • Education Advocate: For four years, she served as a dedicated school Parent Council Chair, working closely with parents, teachers, and administrators to support local youth.
  • Compassionate Action: Every Christmas Eve, Nicole coordinates the distribution of 100 care backpacks to unhoused individuals across the city. She also regularly serves at the Blessing Centre to combat food insecurity.
  • Recognized Dedication: Her tireless service has earned her several notable distinctions, including the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal, the 2026 City of Brantford Accessibility Award, and being named a Paul Harris Fellow.

Key Priorities for Ward 4
Nicole believes that leadership is about showing up, listening, and doing the hard work. On City Council, she will advocate for:
  • 🏠 Affordable Housing & Responsible Growth: Ensuring development is smart, balanced, and accessible for everyone.
  • ❤️ Community Well-Being: Implementing compassionate, effective strategies to tackle homelessness and mental health challenges.
  • ⚖️ Transparent Governance: Fighting for financially responsible decision-making and absolute accountability at City Hall.
  • 🚸 Safe, Connected Neighbourhoods: Investing in infrastructure and community spaces that keep our families safe and engaged.
  • 💼 Supporting Local Business: Fostering an economic environment where Brantford's entrepreneurs and small businesses can thrive.

Building Our Community, Together

"This campaign isn’t about me—it’s about you. Over the last four years, I’ve met with neighbours across Ward 4 to listen to what is working and what isn't. I am ready to take those concerns directly to City Hall and collaborate on real, lasting solutions. Let’s get to work."
— Nicole Callander
